It does 410 mph TAS top speed at alt, but only for brief periods. At top speed with radiator closed, it overheats quickly and if pilot is not careful, engine damage is certain.

Yep, crappy engine model in that game.
Looks like he is making big improvements for FB though.  I saw an FAQ where he is going to model constant speed props and all the correct prop control modes for different planes.

Anyone know if the wing checkers on that pony are also on the bottom? I would love to build a pony with those markings and I have an unbuilt Hasagawa kit...

Hey there Pongo! That is ONE OF OUR BIRDS! THE
325th FG "THE CHECKERTAIL CLAN" 15th AF.

To answer your question: # 77 was one of the birds of the 319th FS of the 325th FG. The "Checkers" were on the upper and lower wingtips as well as the upper and lower tailplanes.

Some of the later war birds even had checkers on the drop tanks and gear doors.

She is a REAL beauty, wish we had those colors in here! :D

Check out some of the birds on our website. Hit the link below my signature.

It's a Tempest MkV and it's a player developed model. AFAIK it isn't scheduled to be in the FB release but in a patch at some point er later on.

go to http://www.il2center.com , forum section for more info

FB will introduce many new planes, but still somewhat limited to EF. Player add-ons, however, go as far as 1946, Bearcat, Go229, P80 etc. Players do the models and skins, Oleg and team do the FM.

"* Very low maneuverability and bad acceleration at low altitudes compared to Soviet two engined bomber Pe-2"

Guess which plane the russians are talking about here....

From what I've seen, it's probably some aircraft which had much better acceleration and maneuverability than the Pe-2.  :)
